When Will the Next ‘Love Is Blind’ Episodes Drop on Netflix?
Clear your schedules reality TV viewers, because Netflix has a new show for you to obsess over! Love Is Blind is Netflix’s first major foray into the serialized reality romance genre, and boy is it a doozy. The show’s every bit as addictive as The Circle, but twice as cringey and half as sweet. If you thought all the forced flirting via text was awkward on The Circle, just wait until you see a bunch of singles navigate a romantic relationship with someone that’s basically a stranger—a stranger that they’re now engaged to!
You’ve no doubt already watched the first five episodes of Love Is Blind on Netflix and now you’re desperate to see how all of this mayhem plays out. Like The Circle, Love Is Blind Season 1 will unfold over the course of three weeks. Here’s everything you need to know about the future of Love Is Blind.
What is Love Is Blind on Netflix?
Love Is Blind is a reality romance show wherein couples interact with each other via dating “pods,” meaning they can only hear each other. They don’t see each other until after one person has proposed to the other. That means that, theoretically, they’re forming unbiased connections based on what’s on the inside rather than on the outside. But Love Is Blind is more than just a musical chairs dating show of hot singles jumping from pod to pod; it’s an epic romance that pulls the engaged couples out of seclusion and drops them into the real world! First they spend a vacation period in Mexico, and then they return home to introduce their new partner to their friends and family. The season culminates in a wedding episode wherein we find out who says “I do” and who runs screaming for the exit.
Does Love Is Blind Episode 5 end on a cliffhanger?
Episode 5 chronicled the couples’ last few days in Mexico before their inevitable return to the real world. Amber and Barnett are sailing along smoothly—almost aggressively so. When the couples hung out at the resort bar, Amber was all about the PDA right in front of Barnett’s quasi-“ex” Jessica.
No couple is as on the same page as Lauren and Cameron. Whether they were taking a helicopter ride or a night swim, they were affectionate and open nonstop. Lauren talked to Cameron about his history being in interracial relationships, thus marking one of the few convos of substance we’ve seen on Love Is Blind so far!
Giannina and Damian’s last few days in Mexico were rocky. They got into a fight on a sailboat when Damian cryptically said that he was happy to “escape” from his life back home, and then he got incredibly defensive when Giannina asked the perfectly reasonable question, “What are you escaping from?” Later at the resort, Damian opened up a little more, saying that he’s worried he lost his job by coming on the show. We don’t find out what Damian’s job is (he’s a “general manager”?) and we definitely don’t find out what kind of warnings he was given before leaving. Or did he just peace out? We don’t know! Still, Giannina was touched that he’d risk so much to find love, and they ended the episode with—this had to be a producer’s idea—dinner and stargazing.
Drama-free Kelly and Kenny went to dinner, talked about their jobs, and then faded into the background.
Then there’s Jessica and Mark. Oof. Meeting the other couples did a number on Jessica, who once had mad feelings for Barnett. Episode 5 starts with them having an intense, tipsy conversation that includes Jessica giving Mark a truly dismissive jerk-off hand motion (great TV!). Things improved the next day during a horseback riding and picnic excursion. Jessica said she was getting closer to Mark and things started to look up… until later when the entire cast hung out at the resort bar. After seeing how close every other couple has grown, Jessica got super insecure and then talked to Kelly about how sexy Barnett is. She admitted that how she feels about Mark is not how she should feel about her fiance, and she took off her engagement ring.
She’s still trying to make it work, though, and she wants to meet his family. But she tells Mark that it’d be a lie to wear her engagement ring. Still, as harsh as all this sounds, the couple end the episode on a… good note? Like, there’s still hope for them? We’ll see next week!
There’s just a few weeks left before the big weddings, and the couples are headed back to Atlanta!
